Some house buyers consider the location of a place according to the abundance of light and orientation towards the sun. But for those who didn’t have the privilege to choose a good place with abundant sunshine, the easiest way to have a well lit and bright home is through decorating the walls.
Besides exposing the vertical space available in a house, walls are also good media to reflect light. Even plain walls with no mirrors can help in dispersing light around a house. Just like all materials, walls have the ability to absorb and reflect colors. And with its feature of showcasing abundant vertical space, walls are capable of absorbing and reflecting great amounts of light and it all just depend on the color they have been painted with.
The basic concepts of dark and light colors also apply when painting a wall. By painting a wall with a dark color, it allows it to absorb all colors and reflect only a few hence, resulting to minimal light. Meanwhile, light colors basically reflect all colors which in turn combine to become the white light dispersed. Painting the wall with a light color does not necessarily mean painting it with white. The white color has the maximum reflection which results to a very bright glare that is no longer good for the eyesight. The key is to create a light color using white as the base and the other colors as tint. This usually results to the pastel colors.
